The Aviation Medicine Doctors Association (AVAM) was registered on December 26, 2016. The Association unites doctors of various specialties working in the medical safety system of civil aircraft, medical examination, medical expertise and admission of civilian aviation personnel to professional activities for health reasons.
The main objectives of the Association are to facilitate the joint efforts and coordination of the activities of the Association members aimed at developing domestic aviation medicine, primarily civil aviation, improving the safety level of civil aircraft, as well as ensuring the protection of the rights of members of the Association, representing common interests in state, non-state and interstate institutions and organizations, federal, regional and local authorities.
In 2017, the Association became a member of the European Society of Aerospace Medicine (ESAM) and joined the ESAM Advisory Board as a full member.
In September 2017, AVAM took an active part in the 65th World Congress of Aviation and Space Medicine (ICASM 2017 Italy, Rome) and the ESAM General Assembly, held as part of the ICASM with the presentation of three reports on relevant topics of civil medicine aviation medicine, as well as in the Conference on Aviation Health Conference 2017 London, organized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), an aeromedical unit; and at the Second Global Aviation Symposium GACS2017 (Athens) held with the support of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) aimed at building a safe, reliable and sustainable aviation community.
